DUNTROON PUBLISHING has been involved in publishing Scottish related and sports interest  magazines and books since 1986. Our first ever publication, a monthly magazine, was PIPE BAND WORLD (later re-named PIPING WORLD) which came off the press in March 1986. It survives today as the most popular piping magazine in the world in its free digital format CLICK FOR DETAILS.

From 1991 until 2002 the business was regarded as the foremost publisher of football magazines and newspapers in Australia and included in our list was Football Weekly as well as club magazines for National League clubs including Marconi, Canberra Cosmos, Sydney Olympic, Morwell Falcons and Sydney United as well as Canberra Kookaburras Rugby Club
(the forerunner of the ACT Brumbies). We also produced international match day programs for both football and rugby as well as cup final programs.

A complete change in direction saw a return to Scotland in January 2002 and the commencement of a series of print magazines and books. PIPING WORLD, SCOTTISH WORLD and CRUACHAN! (all available in free digital format CLICK FOR DETAILS) are the survivors of that period as well as a growing catalogue of books. Today our catalogue has a heavy slant towards Scottish traditions.

The name ‘Duntroon’ was that of a cadet family of the Campbell House of Argyll which in the mid 1800s established sheep farming in what is now the Canberra area of Australia. There is no connection with that family although there are certainly parallels between the spirit of adventure shown between Robert Campbell of the nineteenth century and Robert Bruce Campbell who founded this firm in 1986 - both of the same clan and first name and both who settled in the Canberra region from their Argyllshire roots in Scotland.

DUNTROON PUBLISHING is once again solely owned by Bruce Campbell, as it was in 1986, and has a remit to publish books of Scottish traditional culture interest.
