THE PIPING HANDBOOK appeared late after a printing problem but justified its expectations by being our best selling book of July, displacing THE ROYAL PIPERS (our best-selling book of 2007) which had topped our monthly polls since November 2006.
ALL-TIME BEST SELLING TITLE
THE MacCRIMMON PIPERS OF SKYE was published in Scotland in the summer of 2003 with a book launch at Borreraig, Isle of Skye. Despite the reluctance of many bookshops to stock a ‘piping’ book (which they consider too narrow niche) it has consistently sold well. It has been critically reviewed on BBC Scotland Radio nan Gaidheal where an expected drive-time review expanded to a week of discussion and phone-in. Since then attitudes of general bookshops have started to change and sales have been steady and it is expected to go into reprint later this year.
Sales are largely from quality piping shops - and it is a top seller at the MacCrimmon Piping Museum in Borreraig Park, Skye.
