A 2-day ‘Basic Piping’ workshop aimed at Novice/Grade 4 pipers wishing to improve their own personal performance levels musicianship. This is a direct follow on from BASIC PIPING #1 and pipers should have attended this course or be at a high enough level to be able to follow the workshop material.
This workshop is designed to take pipers from the practice chanter to playing full pipes and also to ensure that the piper is using only correct learning techniques, as well as the speed learning system, EASY METHOD.
Instruction is given only on both pipes and practice chanter.
Demonstrations are also given on pipes by the course instructor.

SCHEDULE
DAY 1 10am-5.30pm
INSTRUMENT: setting up a bagpipe
MUSICIANSHIP: how to ‘read’ phrases, memorise tunes quickly and play better plus THE ROAD TO BETTER PIPING
PERFORMANCE SESSION 1: playing on pipes and tuning
OPEN SESSION: Open Question & Answer problem solving session
DAY 2 10am-5.30pm
INSTRUMENT: simple reed adjustment and tuning
MUSICIANSHIP: staff notation and music theory - using them to help you play better
TECHNIQUE: more technical work, practice routines and exercises
PERFORMANCE SESSION 2: learning a new tune with the EASY METHOD.
PERFORMANCE SESSION 3: playing on pipes and tuning
OPEN SESSION: Open Question & Answer problem solving session
A full instructional CD ROM is given to all students as well as staff notation and a certificate of course attendance.
