A 2-day ‘Better Piping’ workshop aimed at pipers wishing to improve their own personal performance levels, instrument sound and musicianship (this schedule has been expanded to meet local interest).

Note that is an individual and separate workshop which differs in content from BETTER PIPING 1.

THE BAGPIPE: advanced tuning, selecting reeds, basic adjustments to pipe chanter reeds.
MUSICIANSHIP: an in-depth look at aspects of theory - and how it helps you to play better. Phrasing and playing on the beat.
TECHNIQUE: an in-depth look at embellishments and practice techniques to both play and improve.
PERFORMANCE SESSION 1: doing it all on pipes

DAY 2  10am-5.30pm
PLAYING: linking tunes together seamlessly
TECHNICAL: building a simple Medley
MUSICIANSHIP: writing music from memory - the easy way
PERFORMANCE SESSION 2: doing it all on pipes
OPEN SESSION: Open Question & Answer problem solving session

A full instructional CD ROM is given to all students as well as staff notation and a certificate of  course attendance.
