“For some the Highland pipe is a serious instrument, to be played with skill and care and to consume a lifetime in its study ... but to me, it’s even more important than that - it is life itself.”
Bruce Campbell with acknowledgement to the late, great Bill Shankly

PipingLive! airs on BBC Alba
12 December 2011
The much-awaited first of a three part TV series of this year’s PipingLive! Festival aired on BBC Alba on Saturday evening. However, the one-hour program might well be rated as a ‘damp squid’ by many viewers. The program was noticeable by its lack of commentary, and the majority of what was included was in Gaelic - without the customary English-language sweeps which mark the majority of BBC Alba’s programs.
Of other concern to piping audiences was the lack of traditional piping, the weight of the program being given to fusion piping.
