WINTER STORM KICKS OFF

THE Winter Storm Festival kicks off tomorrow with record numbers of participants announced by the organisers.
The Kansas based weekend event is one of a number of high profile piping festivals which have developed rapidly in recent years.
This is Winter Storm’s 11th year of operation.

HIGHLANDS COMPETITION CALLED OFF

Sources in Australia have indicated that the pipe band and solo piping competition which is held in February in the Highlands area (south west of Sydney) has been cancelled with weeks to go before this year’s event was scheduled to take place.
No reasons have been given and no official notification has been received.
