While we have a number of ‘in stock’ sessions our forte is designing and implementing something which would be particular to each situation.
Another aspect that has been learned over the years is that it is more often easier for us to come to you.
With these in mind we can offer the following Short Course instructional packages which could feature tuition in piping, drumming and Highland dancing - in any combination;
WORKSHOPS/ SEMINARS/ FORUMS
These can be done over a weekend or longer as necessary. Perhaps a Friday evening start and an early Sunday finish?
Workshops can be done at Beginner, Novice, Intermediate or Advanced level.
Sometimes it is possible to combine different levels but usually that involves having a multi-instructor base.
SCHOOL
A full week of instruction with multi subjects, cross-over lessons, individual tuition and/or group tuition. Ideally, we would bring in a team of qualified instructors. Again tuition could be featured in piping, drumming and/ or Highland dancing.
BAND TUITION
An outreach program of analysing your band and then providing ongoing tuition/instruction on an ad hoc basis.
A typical ‘band night’ could have any (or all) of these elements;
* separate session with pipe major and/or pipe sergeant
* conduct of a chanter practice
* conduct of a pipe section practice
* conduct of a full band practice
* critique sheet on ‘competition set’ playing
* written recommendations and assessment
PIOBAIREACHD LECTURES/ WORKSHOPS
In 2006 Bruce Campbell delivered a lecture on Piobaireachd to the ethnomusicology course of the University of Highlands & Islands. This has since been further developed into;
a) a 2-day workshop on ‘The Piobaireachd of the MacCrimmons’
b) an interactive lecture/seminar on either ‘The Piping Adventures of Donald Ruadh MacCrimmon’ or ‘The Music of the MacCrimmons’ complete with power-point presentation and live piping.
LET US DESIGN A ‘SPECIAL COURSE’ EITHER FOR YOU INDIVIDUALLY, FOR YOUR GROUP OR FOR YOUR PIPE BAND
COULD YOU HOST ONE OF OUR WORKSHOPS?
WOULD YOU or your band or organisation like to host a piping workshop?
Currently plans are being laid for 2010 and beyond to include a range of outreach weekend workshops.
If you would like to discuss this as a possibility please contact Bruce Campbell

The theory of tuning - first, in theory, second in reality
Musicianship - one of the three integral elements of our workshops. The others are instrument and technique.
